What We Test
Our VOC assessment covers both total volatile organic compound (TVOC) levels and, where required, individual species identification for specific compounds of concern.

Common Sources in Offices
VOCs in office environments typically originate from new furniture and fit-out materials, flooring adhesives, paints and coatings, cleaning products, printer emissions, and personal care products. Formaldehyde is commonly found in pressed-wood furniture, insulation materials, and some textiles.
When to Test
VOC testing is particularly important during or after office refurbishment, when investigating occupant complaints (headaches, eye irritation, 'chemical' odours), for the BREEAM indoor air quality issue (Hea 02 in BREEAM UK New Construction 2018) or WELL certification, and as part of post-construction handover assessments.
