How the programme works
Each contract follows the same seven-stage cycle.
Asset and data review
We review asset lists, drawings and previous reports to build a system register for each site.
Site categorisation
We categorise systems by type, use and risk.
Risk-based intervals
We set inspection intervals for each system in line with TR19 Air and TR19 Grease, and any contract or insurer requirement.
Scheduled surveys
Assessments are scheduled and delivered to a consistent method and reporting format across every site.
Exception reporting
Systems that fail the criteria are flagged promptly, with a defined cleaning scope.
Independent verification
After cleaning by your contractor, we verify the result against the pre-clean evidence.
Annual management review
We review the year's findings with you and adjust intervals and priorities.

Independent post-clean verification to TR19 Air Version 2
Version 2 of TR19 Air (March 2026) formalises what should be reported after cleaning. When your contractor has finished, we check the work independently rather than relying on self-certification.
- We re-test at the same locations as the pre-clean survey, using the same method
- We review the contractor's Post-Work Verification Report, including before-and-after photographs, test results, site plan and access-point details
- We confirm the outcome for each system: Full Clean, Partial Clean, Inspection (Outcome 'Clean') or Inspection (Outcome 'Not Clean')
Limitations and what this assessment cannot tell you
- The programme covers the systems and sites listed in the contract register
- Cleaning and remedial works are carried out by your contractors, not by us
- Results for each system reflect the date of its last survey
